John Peyton Moncrief turned in a record-breaking performance on Saturday at the Kentucky Track and Cross County Coaches Association (KTCCA) Elementary State Championship in Louisville.

The Waco Elementary student took first place in the boys 11-12 year-olddivision of the long jump. In the process, he set a new state record with a distance of 13-05.75, easily beating out the old mark (12-07).

Moncrief also placed second in the 200 meter dash (28.30) and was fifth in the 100 meter dash (14.07).

Daniel Boone’s Keondre Dean posted a pair of Top-5 finishes in the boys 11-12 year-old division.

He was third in the 100 meter dash (13.60) and fourth in the 200 meter dash (29.64). Dean also finished 12th in the long jump.

Micah Lewis competed in the boys 9-10 year-old division. The Daniel Boone student was eighth in the shot put (15-05.50), finished 24th in the long jump and was 35th in the 100-meter dash.

Philip Eli McKenzie competed in the boys 11-12 year-old division also. The White Hall student was 12th in the 800 meters and 14th in the 1,600 meters.

Also in the boys 11-12 year-old division, White Hall’s Rush Hensley was 13th in the 800 meters and 14th in the 1,600 meters and Daniel Boone’s Gavin Bradley was 19th in the 1,600 meters and 21st in the 800 meters.

In the girls 11-12 year-old division, Daniel Boone’s Antigone Utz was 21st in the 1,600 meters.

Waco’s Paityn Shoopman was 14th in the girls 11-12 division of the 800 meter run.
