Youth golfers from Madison County turned in solid performances at the Kentucky Junior PGA Championship.
The event was held Monday and Tuesday at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond.
Madison Central graduate Mackenzie Neal had a pair of great rounds and finished third in the girls competition. She shot a 72 on Monday and had a 74 in the final round.
The Morehead State signee was +2, 146, and end up two shots behind the winner.
Laney Frye (E, 146) of Nicholasville took the title. Rylea Marcum (+1, 145) of Georgetown was second.
Madison Central senior Mattie Neeley finished 15th. She shot an 82 on Monday, but bounced back with a 77 on Tuesday.
She finished at +15, 159.
Elizabeth Eberle shot a +30, 174, and finished 31st. She shot rounds of 90 and 84.
Reagan Clark shot a +35, 179, and finished 35th. She shot rounds of 92 and 87.
Katherine Taylor tied for 38th after posting scores of 94 and 88. She finished at +38, 182.
Allison Shaffer (+55) finished 45th after shooting rounds of 102 and 97.
Claira Ramsey (+58) finished 47th after posting scores of 104 and 98.
In the boys competition, Richmond's Gavin McKune shot a +15, 159, and finished tied for 43rd.
Blake McGinn shot a +52, 196, and finished 75th.
