The Berea College men's and women's basketball teams picked up hard-fought USA South Conference victories on Saturday.
The Mountaineers (7-5, 3-2 USA South) topped Greensboro College, 99-96, at the Seabury Center, while the Lady Mountaineers defeated Piedmont College, 70-61, in Demorest, Ga.
The Mountaineers are set to return to action today at home against Averett College. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

Lady Mountaineers push win streak to eight games
Bailee Vanover had 18 points and five rebounds and three other players reached double-figures as the Lady Mountaineers pushed their winning streak to eight games with a 70-61 win on the road over defending USA South champion Piedmont College.
Piedmont (8-8, 4-3) jumped out to a 16-9 lead after the first quarter, but Berea rallied to take a 35-31 lead at halftime.
Destiny Combs had 15 points, 13 rebounds and three steals. Bethanie Williams had 15 points and five rebounds off the bench, while Briana Lanham had 10 points and four rebounds.
Aaliyah Hampton - Berea's leading scorer - battled foul trouble and played just nine minutes. She did not score.
The Lady Mountaineers out-rebounded Piedmont, 54-37. Berea shot just 33.9 percent from the field, hit 8-of-21 three-point attempts and were 20-of-34 from the free throw line.
The Lady Mountaineers also had 20 turnovers.
Nakeisha Greene had tow points and 10 rebounds. Kristin Barnes had eight points and Destanie Love had two points.
Berea lost to Piedmont in the USA South Conference Tournament title game each of the past two seasons.
The first-place Lady Mountaineers have a game lead over Huntingdon College (5-1) in the USA South Western Division standings.
Mountaineers win second-straight
Five players reached double figures as the Mountaineers battled to a 99-96 win over Greensboro College on Saturday at the Seabury Center.
Torell Carter had 23 points and 11 rebounds, Isaac Caudill had 23 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Andrew Doty added 14 points and five rebounds.
The game was tied 40-40 at halftime and also featured 10 lead changes and 10 ties.
Berea shot 50 percent from the field, including 9-of-18 from three-point range, on the way to a second-straight win. The Mountaineers were also 26-of-36 from the free throw line.
Quae Charlton had 14 points. Terique Miller hit three three-pointers and finished with nine points and three steals. Kevion Hudson had 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Jair Jackson had five points and seven rebounds, while Dakota Mays had two points.
