Athletes from Madison Central and Madison Southern competed in the Wildcat Classic last weekend at the University of Kentucky.
The event was held at the Nutter Fieldhouse.
Madison Central's Kyler Stewart took the title in the one-mile run with a time of 4:34.75. He also took fourth place in the two-mile run (9:50.20).
Central's Wyatt Stewart placed second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 14-6. He edged out teammate Tristan Petrey, who finished third (14-0).
Madison Southern's Moriah Hill took third in the shot put. She had a throw of 32-06.00.
Central's Dirk Gambrell took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.86 and 75th in the 60-meter dash.
Southern's Jonah Farnstrom was eighth in the 400-meter dash (52.31). Southern's Nadia Meeks finished ninth in the 60-meter hurdles (10.37) and was 39th in the 60-meter dash and 64th in the 200-meter dash.
Southern's Kaylynn Wright finished ninth in the 60-meter dash, 15th in the 200-meter dash and 25th in the long jump.
Madison Central's Kaitlyn Cain was 10th in the pole vault (8-0).
Central's Brady Masters was 10th in the one-mile run with a time of 4:42.72.
Central's Reagan Wright took 14th in the pole vault (11-0) and the Central girls 4x800 meter relay team placed 19th.
Other athletes from Central who competed in the event included: Wesley Stokes (21st in 800-meter run), Noah Halloran (56th in one mile run), Austin Jacobson (76th in 800-meter run), Matthew Gallinger (85th in 400 meter dash) and Tylan King (129th in 800 meter run).
Other athletes from Southern who competed in the event included: Macie Hill (20th in shot put), Brayden Carson (29th in long jump and 87th in 60 meter dash), Sam Grinstead (34th in shot put), Jordan Williams (39th in 400 meter dash), Maria Centers (51st in shot put), Jace Williams (57th in shot put), Steven Perkins (61st in long jump), Joseph Negron (62nd in 200 meter dash, 89th in 60 meter dash), Ashley Collins (78th in 400 meter dash, 101st in 200 meter dash and 101st in 60 meter dash), Cameron Holbrook (78th in 200 meter dash), Trenton Rose (78th in 200 meter dash), John Negron (93rd in 200 meter dash and 116th in 60 meter dash), Hayden Jakubowski (118th in one mile) and Logan Akers (132nd in one mile).
This past weekend, Madison Central's Ciara and Conner O'Shea competed in the Music City High School Invitational at Vanderbilt University.
Ciara ran a 10:52 two-mile for second place, and top of the Kentucky rankings and around 12th nationally.
Conner ran a 9:27 two-mile that also puts him at the top of Kentucky rankings in that event and around 26th nationally.
