Madison County swimmers turned in outstanding performances on Nov. 16 at the Telford YMCA's Sprint Meet in Richmond.

The Piranhas competed against athletes from six other teams -- Beaumont Centre Family YMCA (Lexington, Limestone YMCA Swim Club, North Lexington YMCA, North East Y Tsunami Swim Club (Louisville) Louisville, Paris/Bourbon County YMCA, and the Ashland Area YMCA.

The event featured action in 64 events.

Telford's Sawyer Wilson was the high point winner in the boys 9-10 year-old division. He took first place in the 25-yard backstroke, 25-yard freestyle and the 25-yard breaststroke.

Telford's Kaden Collier was the high point runner up in the boys 13-14 year-old division. He took first place in the 50-yard butterfly, was second in the 50-yard breaststoke and third in the 50-yard free.

Logan Reichely was the high-point runner-up in the boys 15-18 year-old division. He won the 50-yard free, posting a back zone cut time. He was second in the 50-yard butterfly and third in the 50-yard free.

Leah Zimmerman was second in the 50-yard butterfly in the girls 15-18 year-old division.

Emma McDowell took second in two events in the girls 13-14 year old division -- 50-yard butterfly and 50-yard free.

Kaiden Graves placed in three events in the boys 13-14 year-old division. He was second in the 50-yard free and third in both the 50-yard butterfly and 50-yard breaststroke.

Emma Phillips took first place in 100-yard IM for the girls 13-14 year-old division. She was also third in the 50-yard free and the 50-yard breaststroke.

Ava Phillips took first place in the girls 6-and-under 25-yard butterfly. She was also third in the 25-yard back and the 25-yard free.

James Corder took first place in the boys 6-and-under 25-yard freestyle and 25-yard backstroke.

Lauryn Hagen had a pair of solid performances in the girls 9-10 year-old division. She finished second in the 25-yard free and third in the 25-yard breaststroke.

Marci Geile took third place in the girls 9-10 year-old division 25-yard freestyle.

Jocelyn Geile was second in the 25-yard breaststroke in the girls 7-8 year-old division.

Hayden Bennett took third in the 25-yard butterfly in the girls 9-10 year-old division.

The Piranhas got excellent performances in a trio of 200-yard freestyle relays.

In the girls 9-10 year-old division, the team of Marci Geile, Ayanna Domenghini, Jocelyn Geile and Lauryn Hagan took first place.

In the girls 13-14 year-old division, the team of Emma McDowell, Kirsten Eades, Madalyn White and Emma Phillips finished second.

In the boys 15-18 year-old division, the team of Dawson Nicely, Ryan Stephens, Reese Sherrow and Logan Reichley finished second.

The Telford Piranhas have 45 swimmers ranging in age from 5-18.

The team is coached by John Stratman, Lindsey Guzman (assistant) and Jana Milam (dry land trainer).
