Zahria Hendrix will transfer to Eastern Kentucky University and join the women's basketball program after spending last year at Diablo Valley Community College.

As a sophomore, Hendrix started in all 33 games for the Vikings. She averaged 16.7 points per game, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals. The 5-foot-7 wing helped lead the team to a 32-1 record and a CCCAA 2018-19 state championship.

Hendrix was named first-team all-conference, Big 8 Conference MVP, first-team all-state, Northern California Player of the Year and CCCAA state tournament MVP.

The Stockton, Calif., native spent her freshman campaign at Stanislaus State University where she averaged 8.7 points per game and 3.8 rebounds.

The Colonels have added several other transfers since Samantha Williams took over the program earlier this year, including -- Kynnedy Azubike (Akron), I'liyah Green (Cincinnati), Samari Mowbray (Northern Kentucky) and Qaylia Stanton (Ranger College).

EKU is set to return only five players -- senior Shay Soloman, juniors Teri Goodlett and Bria Bass and sophomore Hailey McCoy -- from a team that went 2-27 last season.
