The Eastern Kentucky University baseball team's season came to an end on Friday night at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
Morehead State scored eight runs in the fifth inning and topped the Colonels, 11-3, at Rent One Park in Marion, Ill.
EKU finishes the season with a 32-27 record.
The Colonels -- the No. 6 seed -- opened the tournament with a 4-1 win over the No. 3-seeded Eagles on Wednesday.
Morehead State jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on Friday.
The Colonels responded with three runs in the second inning. Corey Conklin had a three-run double.
The Eagles took control after sending 13 batters to the plate in the fifth.
EKU had to win an elimination game earlier in the day to set up the rematch with Morehead State.
The Colonels pounded out 17 hits and picked up a 15-8 win over Belmont.
The Bruins had a 4-3 lead after two innings, but EKU scored three times in the third, twice in the fourth and six times in the fifth.
Logan Thomason was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two walks, two RBI and scored four times.
Brent Lovell homered and had three RBI.
Daniel Harris was 3-for-6 with two RBI and scored a run. Michael Brewer was 4-for-5 with with three RBI and scored twice, while Nick Howie was 2-for-6 with two RBI and scored once.
Brennan Kelly started for EKU and went 5 2/3 innings, allowing 11 hits, seven runs (five earned) with one walk and two strikeouts.
Nick Borek earned the save by pitching the final 3 1/3 and allowing four hits, one run and two walks with five strikeouts.
