The Model Laboratory girls soccer team ran into a tough Collins club Wednesday and dropped a 3-0 decision on the road.

The Lady Patriots (3-12-3) battled the Lady Titans (9-7-2) to a scoreless tie through the first half.

Collins got a goal early in the second half and that pushed the Lady Patriots back on their heels through the rest of the game.

The Lady Titans added two more on their way to a win at home.

“We worked hard enough,” Model coach Bill Kirk said. “It just didn’t come together offensively.”

Kirk said Caroline Engle played a strong game at midfield. The Lady Patriots were without Alex Kubala and used Emma Barnes sparingly because of an injury to the junior.

The game was the last regular-season contest for the Lady Patriots. Model now turns its attention to Berea (12-5-3) in the opening round of the 28th District Tournament, which is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday.
