Editor’s note — Because of early deadlines, recaps of three high school basketball games from Friday night involving Madison County teams did not appear in the Saturday edition of the Richmond Register.

The Indians battled back from a 15-point deficit, but couldn’t come up with a road win Friday in Stanford.

Madison Central got double-doubles from Sam Jones (14 pts, 10 rebs) and Demarcus George (12 points and 14 rebs) in a 66-61 loss to Lincoln County (15-5). Coty Alexander and Isaiah Johnson had 12 points each for the Indians (15-5).

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak.

The win was the seventh-straight for Lincoln County.

Central shot 25 percent from the field in the first half and trailed 32-19 at halftime. The Indians got back within a point in the second half.

Central hit just three-of-17 three-point attempts and was 22-of-41 from the line.

The Indians are set to return to action Tuesday at home against Tates Creek.

Patriots fall in All A

The defending 11th Region All “A” champs appeared to be in good position to get back to the title game Friday in Frankfort.

But, a disappointing second half ended Model Laboratory’s chances of winning a second-straight title.

Lexington Christian Academy opened the second half on a 26-8 run and went on to pick up a 58-46 win. The Patriots (13-5) had a 28-25 lead at halftime, but shot just 21 percent from the field in the second half (four-of-19).

Model got 16 points and nine rebounds from Zack Rice-Gordon and 12 points each from Jared Adams and Ephraim Otieno.

The Patriots are set to return to action Monday at Estill County.
