The Indians set off on a Spring Break trip to Florida with a perfect record.
A week later, they still haven’t suffered a loss.
Madison Central wrapped up an undefeated run through six games at the Cocoa Expo in Cocoa Beach, Fla. on Friday with a 11-3 win over No. 14 West Jessamine.
The win moves the 11th-ranked Indians to 12-0 on the season.
Central trailed 2-0 early, but stormed back, scoring 10 runs in the final three innings. The Indians got three runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and five more in the sixth.
Cole Metcalfe (1-0) got the start and went four innings. He picked up the win after allowing five hits, no walks and two runs (one earned), while striking out three.
Trey Gross pitched one inning and allowed one hit, one run and one walk. Alex Dapkus pitched the final two inning and had two strikeouts.
Isaac Smith singled in the first and after stealing second and third scored on a Dapkus single.
Central took the lead in the fourth. Gross started the inning off with a double and Logan Hunt singled. Isaac Smith and Logan Smith then both pushed across runs with bunts to give the Indians a 3-2 lead.
Isaac Smith later stole home to give Central a two-run lead.
In the fifth, Nicky Edwards drew a walk, Gross then delivered an RBI double. Gross would later score on an error.
Logan Smith started off a big sixth inning with a walk. Metcalfe added an RBI groundout, Dapkus walked and Edwards was hit by a pitch. Pinch hitter Jake Lakes then ripped a two-run single and Gross followed with an RBI single.
Pinch hitter Thomas Crump added an RBI single to wrap up the scoring.
Gross was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs scored and two doubles. Dapkus was 2-for-3 and Isaac Smith was 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases.
Central is set to return to action Tuesday at home against Woodford County.
