Coming off a decisive 83-53 victory over Ohio Valley University in the season opener, the Eastern Kentucky University women’s basketball team travels to Chicago today to take on Chicago State.
Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. at the Jones Convocation Center. The game is not scheduled for radio or Internet bro-adcast.
The Lady Colonels have won the only meeting with the Cougars (1-0). The last time they met was in 1990 at the Comfort Inn Chippewa Classic in Mount Pleasant, Mich. EKU got the better of CSU, topping them 78-62.
The Lady Cougars won their season-opener, topping Northwestern, 76-69. The Cougars are led by senior Jasmin Dixon, who had 23 points and seven assists against Northwestern.
EKU was led in the opener by sophomore Nadia Mossong, who had a career-high 20 points Friday at McBrayer Arena. New Lady Colonel coach Chrissy Roberts also became one of six coaches in Eastern Kentucky University history to win their coaching debut.
Mossong is on the probable starting lineup for the Colonels, along with freshmen Jasmine Lewin and Kayla Drake (both of whom had their first career starts against OVU), sophomore Cherie White and junior Colette Cole.
