The Lady Indians rolled past Paducah Tilghman in the fifth-place game, 83-58, Thursday at the Mercer County Titans Christmas Clash in Harrodsburg.

Kaity Busch was named the Player of the Game after a 10 point, six rebound performance. Brislyn Sizemore scored 14 points, Ashton Feldhaus added 12 points and 10 rebounds and was the only Madison Central player to make the all tournament team.

Jenna Cornelison added eight, Larryn Brooks scored 10, Erika Parks scored six and Christina Ciolek added 10 points.

After leading by seven at the end of the first quarter, Central (14-1) jumped out to an 18-point lead at halftime, thanks to a 2-3 zone defense.

“They had some good guard play but they didn’t shoot the ball well,” Central coach Robbie Cooksey said. “We made them shoot it from the outside with our zone. We got a lot of easy baskets and had a size advantage inside.”

The Lady Indians have rebounded well the past two games from their first loss of the season against Nelson County, which broke a 13-game winning streak.

“We told the kids, ‘Let’s start another winning streak here’ and the kids have bounced back from losing the other night,” Cooksey said.

Central will return to action Saturday against Harrison County. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
