The Madison Central volleyball team pushed its win streak to five matches with a 3-0 win over South Laurel on Monday in Richmond.
The Lady Indians (19-11) won by scores of 25-7, 25-23, 25-10.
Avery Rigney had a team-best 14 kills for Central. Ananiah Huguely had 10 kills and three blocks. Kierstin Osborne had 13 assists, six digs, three kills and one ace.
Central's last loss came on Oct. 2 at the Jefferson County Invitational Tournament.
"The girls have been working hard," Central coach Elizabeth Morrow said. "We greatly improved on our serve receive (against South Laurel)."
Lilly Dobbins had 22 digs, five assists and one ace against South Laurel.
Journey Miserendino finished with 18 assists, six digs and two aces. Sophie Hiles had seven kills. Macalia Morin had 10 digs and Addison Martin had three kills and three blocks.
The Lady Indians are set to wrap up the regular season on Thursday at Tates Creek (18-7).
Lady Pirates return to action
The Berea Community volleyball team returned to action earlier this week after nine days off the court because of health and safety protocols.
The Lady Pirates picked up a 3-0 win on the road Monday over Lynn Camp, then fell at home to Lee County, 2-1, on Tuesday.
In the win over Lynn Camp, Sophia Dobbins had 28 kills, 28 digs, six aces and four assists. Peyton Azbill had nine digs. Taylor Johnson finished with 28 assists and six digs. Morgan Short had eight blocks (six solo), six aces and three digs.
Kadence Bertotto had four kills and two aces. Madison Howell had four kills, four blocks and two digs.
Against Lee County, Dobbins had 29 digs, 26 kills and four aces. Johnson had 24 assists and seven digs. Azbill had nine digs. Bertotto had eight kills and five digs. Trinity Hannon had six digs.
Berea is set to return to action Thursday at home against Barbourvlle.
