The Madison Central volleyball team had its season come to an end on Monday in the opening round of the 11th Region Tournament in Lexington.

The Lady Indians fell to Paul Laurence Dunbar, 3-0.

The Lady Bulldogs won by scores of 25-12, 25-19 and 25-12.

Dunbar advances to take on Frederick Douglass in the semifinals today at Tates Creek High School.

Central finishes the season with a 7-28 record.

The Lady Indians had advanced past the first round of the 11th Region Tournament twice in the past three years.

On Monday, they couldn't find a way to slow down Dunbar.

Central had more hitting errors than kills (16 to 14) and had as many service errors (4) as aces (4).

Avery Rigney and Macaila Morin each had a team-best three kills.

Haven Combs had two kills and an ace. Mary Carol Adams had five digs and an ace. Sophie Hiles had two kills and two digs.

Morin had eight digs and one block. Reagan Wiseman had seven assists and an ace, while Vespera Meadows had five assists and three digs.
