The Madison Central tennis teams split a pair of matches with Tates Creek on Thursday in Richmond.

The Lady Indians picked up a 3-2 win, while the Indians were handed a 2-3 loss.

Central rolled to victories in both girls doubles matches.

Emily Barney and Amanda Beall defeated Danielle Chivero and Raheem Ahmad, 6-1, 6-0, while Pyper Wasch and Caroline Christian defeated Lauren Rayyan and Kayely Fuller, 6-1, 6-0.

Central’s only girls singles win came from Leah Crump, who beat Grace Dennis, 6-1, 6-0.

Tates Creek’s Hope Davis defeated Katie Shaffer in a third-set tiebreaker, 5-7, 7-6(7-4), 1-0(10-8), and Evelyn Carlson beat Central’s Seiil Hooper, 8-2

The Lady Indians are 4-1 on the season.

Central also won both boys doubles matches.

Reece Speller and Alex Miceli defeated Zack Rothrock and Jadon Creech, 6-3, 7-5, while Foster Banks and James Grant beat Logan Nesbitt and Landon Nesbitt, 6-2, 6-3.

In singles action, Tates Creek’s won all three matches.

Evan Fomby defeated Chandler Smith, 6-1, 6-0. Daniel Prinssen beat Will Weitlauf, 6-3, 6-2, and Quinn Morris topped Carson Herbst in three sets, 7-6(7-4), 4-6, 1-0 (10-5).

The Central tennis teams are set to return to action Tuesday against East Jessamine.
