The Patriots helped their long-time coach reach a special milestone with a win over a state powerhouse on Monday in Lexington.
Christopher Tioukalov scored a goal as Model Laboratory beat Lexington Catholic, 1-0.
The win was the 300th for long-time coach Steve Savage.
Model has won seventh-straight games.
Savage is just the seventh high school boys soccer coach to reach the 300-victory mark.
The coach announced last spring that this season — his 27th at the school — would be his last.
Keshav Bhandari had the only assist in the win over Lexington Catholic and Zach Long earned the shutout in goal.
Lady Patriots roll on Senior Night
The Model Laboratory girls soccer team got off to a fast start and rolled to Senior Night win on Monday in Richmond.
The Lady Patriots (9-9) scored twice in the first 10 minutes in a 3-0 win over Frankfort.
The victory snapped a three-game losing streak.
Julia Luxon scored early on an assist from Payton Sparks and Presley Lochmueller added a goal just a few minutes later.
Becky Otieno also found the net.
McKenna Tuttle earned the shutout in goal.
The Lady Patriots are set to wrap up the regular season Thursday at Corbin.
Lady Eagles fall at Franklin County
The Madison Southern girls soccer team fell to Franklin County 1-0 on Monday in Frankfort.
The loss to the Lady Flyers (8-11) marks the fifth-straight loss for the Lady Eagles (6-7-1).
Franklin County took an early lead in the first half and the Southern could not overcome the early deficit.
The Lady Eagles will look to bounce back when they take on Lafayette on Wednesday in Lexington.
