After a lopsided loss To Mercer County in the season opener, the Madison Central girls soccer met on Friday to look at some film.
"It was a good moment," Central coach Charlie Hamilton said.
The Lady Indians had plenty of good moments when they stepped back on to the field. Central took control early and rolled to a 5-0 win over Bryan Station on Saturday in Lexington.
Tristen Hornsby had three goals and two assists as Central bounced back from a 7-1 loss to Mercer County. Maddie Eads had two goals and Jessica Stone.
"I think Bryan Station touched the ball about five times in the first half," Hamilton said. "I was proud of how we bounced back."
Adria Anderson and Becca Gordon split in net, earning the shutout.
The Lady Indians (1-1) are set to return to action Monday at home against Estill County.
Madison Southern tops Southwestern
The Madison Southern boys soccer team rebounded from its first loss of the season with a very solid effort on Saturday in Berea.
Garret Wickersham scored 12 minutes into the game as the Eagles (2-1) picked up a 1-0 win over Southwestern. Parker Coyle had the assist on the goal.
Southern lost to Lexington Catholic, 1-0, on Thursday night at home. Junior keeper Austin Shepherd left that game with an injury, back was back in the net on Saturday.
He had to make only one save - which came on a penalty kick.
Southern is set to return to action Tuesday at Trinity Christian.
