The Madison Central boys soccer team pushed its winning streak to four matches with a very solid performance on Saturday evening in Richmond.
Sam Hughes had three goals and two assists as the Indians (6-7) picked up a 7-0 win over Ashland Blazer (10-3). Tyler Smith also had a pair of goals, while Ryder Browning and Adam Cole also scored.
Central raced out to a 5-0 lead in the first half.
Bishop Burke, Tristen Dandaneau and Parker Wilson had assists.
Hughes had a team-best 17 goals on the season. Smith has eight goals.
The Indians are set to return to action Tuesday at Corbin.
Woodford County tops Model
Maiya Bhandari scored her team-best 10th goal of the season, but the Lady Patriots couldn't come up with a win Saturday on the road.
Woodford County (9-2-1) found the net three times in the first half and went on to pick up a 4-1 win over Model Laboratory.
Ciah Marks had an assist and keeper Claire Garner stopped a penalty kick.
The loss was the second-straight for the Lady Patriots.
Model is set to return to action Monday at Bluegrass United.
Estill tops Berea
The Berea Community girls soccer team was handed a 2-0 loss by Estill County on Saturday in Irvine.
The Lady Pirates (2-9-1) will look to snap a six-match winless streak on Tuesday at Somerset.
