The Madison Central boys soccer team played a pair of games on Saturday in Richmond.

The Indians suffered a 2-1 loss to Collins, then later in the day bounced back to earn a tie with Owensboro.

Central (1-3-1) trailed 1-0 at halftime against Collins and fell behind 2-0 in the second half. Gavin O'Shea got the Indians back in the game with a goal off an assist fromĀ Josh Dluhos.

Central fell behind again against Owensboro, but rallied to take the lead. Trent Fornash scored on an assist from O'Shea and Sam Hughes scored with an assist from Dluhos.

Owensboro scored late to tie the game.

Central is set to return to action Tuesday at home against Shelby County.

Model drops fourth-straight

The Model Laboratory boys soccer team was handed a 4-1 loss by Owensboro on Saturday in Richmond.

Since winning the season opener, the Patriots (4-1) have lost four-straight games.

Christopher Tioukalov scored Model's only goal. Jonathan Crosby had the assist. Zach Long had 10 saves.

Model is set to return to action Tuesday at Boyle County.

Lady Patriots split pair in Tennessee

The Model Laboratory girls soccer team split a pair of games on Saturday at the Smoky Mountain Cup in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

The Lady Patriots (5-2) beat Jackson Christian (Tenn.) 3-2, and fell to Munford (Tenn.) 2-0.

In the win over Jackson Christian, Analyce Valencia had all three of Model's goals. Rebecca Otieno had an assist and Lilly Holcomb had six saves.

In the loss to Jackson Christian, Holcomb had five saves.

Model is set to return to action Sunday in the Smoky Mountain Cup.

Lincoln County tops Eagles

The Madison Southern boys soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss at home on Saturday to Lincoln County.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to 1-4 on the season.

Southern is set to return to action Monday at Corbin.

Fleming County tops Berea

The Berea Community boys soccer team was handed a 2-1 loss at home to Fleming County.

Freshman Peyton Jones had a goal for the Pirates.

With the loss, the Pirates fall to 1-3-1 on the season.

Berea is set to return to action Tuesday at home against Whitley County.
