9.5 central

The Madison Central girls golf team put together a very solid performance Saturday at the Gene Hilen Invitational in Frankfort.

The Lady Indians shot a +28, 316, and finished second. Lexington Christian Academy took the team title with a +23, 311.

Shelby County, +32, finished third.

Elizabeth Eberle led the way for Central, shooting a +1, 73. She finished tied for third.

Claira Beth Ramsey fired a +6, 78, and tied for seventh. Haley Rice shot a +10, 82, and tied for 14th. Abi Buchanan shot a +11, 83 and tied for 16th. Katherine Taylor fired a +13, 85, and tied for 22nd.

Casey Powell of Dunbar took the individual title with a -3, 69.

The event was held at Juniper Hills.

Playing as individuals, Central's Lydia Harrel shot a +15, 87 and tied for 32nd, while Amelia Harrel shot a +27, 99, and tied for 63rd.

Central takes sixth in Louisville

Clay Pendergrass led the way as the Madison Central boys golf team finished sixth in a loaded field Saturday at the 2020 Shamrock Invitational in Louisville.

Pendergrass shot a -1, 71, and finished third.

The Indians had a team score of +26, 314.

The event was held at Wildwood Country Club.

St. Xavier took the team title with a score of +14, 302. Taylor County (+15, 303) was second and Trinity (+16, 304) was third.

Central's Warren Thomis shot a +2, 74, and tied for sixth. Gavin McKune fired a +11, 83, and tied for 46th. Cooper Eberle shot a +14, 86, and tied for 57th, Blake McGinn fired a +23, 95, and finished 79th.

Derek Limberg of Trinity and Hayes Mason of Taylor County both shot a -3, 69.

Model takes seventh

The Model Laboratory boys golf team finished seventh on Saturday at the Chip McDaniel Golf Classic at Boone's Trace in Richmond.

The Patriots shot a 336.

Mason Hamrick finished with a 73 and tied for fifth. Nate Feese shot a 79 and tied for 16th. Thomas Luxon shot an 87 and tied for 48th. Caleb Ballard shot a 97 and tied for 82nd, while Keegan Michael shot a 122 and finished 119th.

Kobe Ingram of Boyle County took the individual title with a 69.

The event featured 127 individuals.
