The Madison Central girls golf team put together a very solid all-around performance on Saturday in the Henry Clay Invitational at Lakeside Golf Course in Lexington.
The Lady Indians had a team score of 322 and took second place. Lexington Christian Academy (309) took the title, while Sacred Heart (328) was third.
Central senior Mattie Neeley shot a +1, 73, and finished third on the individual leaderboard.
Elizabeth Eberle shot a 79, Katherine Taylor had an 84. Claira Beth Ramsey shot an 86 and Reagan finished with an 88.
Central also had players participate in the Estill County High School Golf Tournament on Saturday in Irvine.
The Lady Indians shot a 373 and finished second behind Owen County (349).
Haley Rice shot an 86 for Central. Abi Buchanan had an 81. Abby Barrett shot a 97. Emily Barney shot a 99 and Ellie Speltz finished with a 120.
Model also had three golfers compete in Estill County High School Golf Tournament.
Lydia Harrel had an 80. Amelia Harrel finished with a 94 and eighth-grader Kylie Pirtle fired a career-low 99.
Central takes fifth in Louisville
The Madison Central boys golf team took on some of the top teams in the state on Saturday at the Battle of the Bluegrass in Louisville.
The Indians shot a 310 (+22) and took fifth place.
The event was held at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club.
Cooper Eberle shot a +1, 73 and finished tied for sixth. Warren Thomis finished tied for 10th after firing a +2, 74.
Clay Pendergrass tied for 14th with +3, 75. Bryce Snapp (+16, 88) tied for 61st and Gavin McKune (+17, 89) tied for 64th.
St. Xavier (282, -6) ran away with the title. Trinity (294) was second.
Drew Doyle of St. Xavier (-5, 67) took the individual title.
Model finishes sixth
The Model Laboratory boys golf team finished sixth out of 18 teams at the SE Kentucky Golf Classic on Saturday.
The event was held at Boone's Trace National Golf Course in Richmond.
Mason Hamrick shot a team-best 78 for the Patriots (330). Caleb Ballard and Nate Feese both had 83s. Jake Hajjar fired an 86 and Thomas Luxon had a 90.
