The Madison Central girls golf team finished near the top of the leaderboard in each of the first four tournaments of the season.
That streak continued on Saturday in Lexington.
The Lady Indians shot a 311 and finished in a tie for second place at the Dunbar Invitational, which was held at Kearny Hill Golf Links. Lexington Christian Academy took the title with a score of 298.
Sacred Heart (311) tied for second with Central, while Great Crossing fired a 315 and Dunbar shot a 320.
Mattie Neeley once again led the way for the Lady Indians. The senior shot a +1, 74, and finished tied for fifth.
Reagan Clark, Elizabeth Eberle and Clara Ramsey each shot 79 for Central.
Katherine Taylor shot an 81.
In five tournament this season, the Lady Indians have one title and four second-place finishes.
Great Crossing's Rylea Marcum (67) took the individual title.
Model Laboratory also competed in the Dunbar Invitational on Saturday in Lexington.
Lydia Harrel led the way for the Lady Patriots. She shot an 80.
Allie Shaffer had a score of 89 and Amelia Harrel finished with a 103.
Model's Lesley Durr and Meghan Perkins were not able to finish the round and had to withdraw.
Central is set to return to action Monday at the Lexington Christian Invitational.
Indians shoot low round of the season
The Madison Central boys golf team put together it lowest round of the season on Saturday at the 56th Kentucky Invitational Tournament in Goshen.
The Indians fired a 299 and took sixth in a 20-team field that featured some of the top programs in the state.
St. Xavier took the title with a score of 278. Christian Academy of Louisville (288) was second.
The event was held at Harmony Landing Golf Course.
Central got a solid all-around performance, which was led by Clay Pendergrass. The freshman fired an even-round 72.
Warren Thomis shot a 73, Cooper Eberle and Blake McGinn each finished with 77 and Gavin McKune shot a 79.
Central's team score was five strokes lower than it had posted at any tournament this season.
The Indians are set to return to action Monday at the Madison Central Invitational at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond.
Patriots take seventh in Lexington
The Model Laboratory boys golf team took seventh place on Saturday at the Henry Clay Invitational.
The event took place at Lakeside Golf Course in Lexington.
The Patriots finished with a team score of 320.
Mason Hamrick led Model with a 75, while Nate Feese shot a 79.
Thomas Luxon fired an 81, while Jake Hajjar and Caleb Ballard both finished at 85.
The Patriots are set to return to action today in the Model Invitational at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond.
