The Pirates (6-1) opened district play with a match-up against one of the top teams in the state.
This week, they will face another very big challenge — this time on the road.
Berea Community is set to take on Eminence (6-1) today in Henry County.
Game time is set 7:30 p.m.
The Pirates had won seven-straight games before falling at home last week to No. 2 Kentucky Country Day at home, 36-14.
Berea led for most of the first half after a touchdown run by senior quarterback Jaylen Whitaker.
The undefeated Bearcats, however, scored 36-straight points to take control.
Timmy Thompson caught a touchdown pass from Whitaker in the closing minutes.
Eminence is the highest-scoring Class A team in the state (328 points).
The Warriors are averaging 46 points a game and have scored 50 or more points three times this season.
Last week, they opened district play with a 60-30 win on the road over Frankfort. Eminence had almost 600 yards of total offense against the Panthers, including 423 rushing yards.
The Warriors have already racked up more than 1,500 yards on the ground, led by Marshall Metten (793 yards, 12 touchdowns).
Quarterback Justin Hedges has almost 1,000 yards passing with 13 touchdowns.
Dakadrian Saunders leads the team with 555 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. He also has seven rushing TDs.
Adriene Baily has six receiving touchdowns also.
Eminence has also forced 17 turnovers on the season, four of have been returned for scores.
The Pirates have faced the Warriors in each of the past four seasons. Eminence won all those match-ups, the past three by a combined score of 152-0.
Berea will wrap up the district portion of the schedule next week at home against Frankfort (2-5).
