Madison Central’s Ciara O’Shea dominated the field on Saturday at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational.
The senior posted a course-record time of 17:16.86 in the 5K seeded elite race, setting a new course record at Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville.
Jessica Secor of DuPont Manual finished second — almost 33 seconds behind O’Shea.
Central finished sixth in the team standings with 214 points.
Shelby Lamb was 17th with a time of 19:03.94. Meredith Campbell was 31st in a personal-best time of 19:50.01. Abigail Beard (21:29.82) was 90th and also set a new PR.
Amilya Reynolds was 106th, Alexis Ngetich was 117th. Makayla Bickett was 120th. Kaleigh Neel was 158th. Rowan Ratcliff was 168th and Kymarra Mutuse was 173rd.
Central also took sixth place in the boys 5K varsity race.
Carter Lamb was 22nd in a time of 17:21.58. Brody Coleman (17:41.55) was 37th. Chase Lochmueller was 41st. Michael Kipelio was 72nd. Mark Kipelio was 78th.
Caden Coleman was 82nd. Elijah Carrico was 86th. Braden Bentley was 114th and Triston Carter Sizemore was 121st.
Brody Coleman, Lochmueller, Mike Kipelio, Mark Kipelio, Caden Coleman and Bentley also set new personal-best times.
