The Model Laboratory boys soccer team opened the season with an impressive performance Tuesday on the road.

Jonathan Crosby had two goals and two assists as the Patriots (1-0) defeated North Laurel a 5-1 in London.

Keshav Bhandari, a freshman, had two goals and an assist, while Thomas Chadwell had a goal and an assist.

William Luxon had an assists. John Benson and Ashton Steelman split time in net.

The Patriots are set to return to action Thursday at Southwestern.

Southern falls to Danville

The Madison Southern boys soccer team opened the season with a 3-1 loss on the road Tuesday to Danville.

Parker Coyle had the only goal of the game for the Eagles, which came off an assist from Pierce Meeks.

Southern is set to return to action Saturday at Montgomery County.

Central drops opener

The Madison Central boys soccer team fell behind early and wasn't able to rally for a win on the road Tuesday in the season opener.

Tates Creek had a 2-0 lead at halftime and went on to pick up a 5-1 victory.

The Commodores went up 4-0 before the Indians got on the board with 15 minutes left in the game.

Josh Dluhos sent a pass to Cohen Kemper, who found the bottom corner of the net.

Central is set to return to action Saturday at Danville.
