Reed Sheppard had 30 points as North Laurel picked a 91-73 win over Madison Central on Jan. 30 in London.
They teams met again on Tuesday — this time in Richmond — and Sheppard delivered another strong performance.
The sophomore had 43 points, seven rebounds, six assists and six steals as the undefeated Jaguars (17-0) pulled away for a 90-69 win over the Indians (11-6).
Kole Browne had 20 points and four rebounds for Central. Will Hardin had 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, while Jaylen Davis had 16 points and four rebounds.
Central took a 37-36 lead late in the second quarter on a three-pointer by Hardin, however, North got a lay-up at the buzzer to take a 41-39 advantage into halftime.
Sheppard hit a pair of three-pointers early in the third quarter as the Jaguars started to take control. The sophomore finished 15-of-34 from the field, 4-of-12 from three-point range and was 9-of-9 at the free throw line.
North led 71-53 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Jaguars shot 53 percent from the field for the game, while Central shot 43 percent, including 7-of-26 from three-point range. The Indians had 15 turnovers.
Kenyatta Hardge had eight points and three rebounds for Central. Taishon Chenault had six points and four rebounds, while Trey Skaggs had three points, four rebounds and three assists.
The Indians are set to return to action Thursday at Montgomery County.
Patriots top Trinity Christian
The Patriots shot 51 percent from the field and pulled away for a 68-54 win over Trinity Christian on Tuesday in Richmond.
Bryson Perry had 18 points, five assists and three rebounds, while Nate Feese had 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks as Model Laboratory (8-11) won for the sixth time in its past seven games.
The Patriots had a 13-11 lead after one quarter and went into halftime up 30-25. Model out-scored Trinity Christian 21-15 in the third quarter to take control.
Jackson Perry had 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Ethan Bailey had 11 points, five assists and four rebounds.
Model was 4-of-12 from three-point range and 8-of-12 at the free throw line.
Thomas Luxon had six points and eight rebounds. John Benson had two points, four rebounds and two steals.
The Patriots are set to return to action Friday at Burgin.
Berea tops Powell County
Back on the court for the first time since Feb. 6, the Pirates got off to a fast start on Tuesday in Stanton.
Berea Community raced out to a 19-8 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 78-62 win over Powell County (1-14). Jaylen Dorsey and Jayden Smith each had 19 points for the Pirates (2-4). James Brennan had 14 points.
Trenton Wilson and Rey Alejandro each had seven points. Quenten Morgan had six points and Jacob Robinson had two points.
Berea is set to return to action Wednesday at Estill County.
Southern falls to Lincoln County
The Eagles (6-8) had a two-game winning streak snapped with a 69-52 loss to Lincoln County (7-5) on Tuesday at Eastern Kentucky University's McBrayer Arena.
Trent DeVries had 17 points and Walt Smith had eight points, three rebounds and three assists as Madison Southern was unable to recover a big early deficit. The Patriots led 14-12 after the first quarter before out-scoring the Eagles 21-6 in the second quarter.
The Eagles shot 41 percent from the field for game, hit 6-of-22 three-pointers and were 8-of-13 at the free throw line.
Jay Rose and Hezekiah Fogle both had six points and four rebounds for Southern. Jayden Adams had four points and three assists. Kaden Carr-White had three points. Blake Simpson and Brett Erslan had two points each.
Baylor Mattingly had 24 points for Lincoln County and hit 8-of-13 three-point attempts.
Southern out-scored the Patriots 26-16 in the paint.
The Eagles are set to return to action Thursday at Corbin.
