The Madison Central boys golf team got a solid all-around performance on Saturday at the Boone's Trace National Invitational in Richmond.

The Indians had three players finish in the 70s and took third place with a team score of 313. Trinity (298) took the title, while Lexington Christian Academy (304) was second.

Freshman Clay Pendergrass led the way for Central, shooting a 75. Gavin McKune had a 77 and Warren Thomis finished with a 79. Cooper Eberle had an 82 and Bryce Snapp shot an 88.

LCA's Jansen Preston took the individual title with a 69. Henry Lane of Lafayette (71) was second.

Clifton Scully shot a 79 to lead Madison Southern (401).

Jonah Ferguson had a 101, Chris Curry shot a 109, Sam Bingham finished at 112 and Ben Ferguson posted a score of 133.

Madison Central also had five other golfers compete in the event.

Jacob Aldridge shot an 89, Blake McGinn and Ayden Shepherd both finished at 90, Eli Stuart finished with a 92 and Radney Bales had a 95.

Central is set to return to action Saturday at the Trinity Invitational in Louisville.
