The Madison Central boys golf team turned in a solid performance on Wednesday in the opening round of the Kentucky Cup.

The event is being held at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

The Indians shot a team total of 309 and finished in seventh place.

Clay Pendergrass shot a 74 to lead Central. Warren Thomis had a 75 and Gavin McKune fired a 76.

Cooper Eberle finished with an 84 and Bryce Snapp shot an 85.

The Indians were paired with three of the top teams in the state -- Lexington Christian Academy, Marshall County and St. Xavier.

Central is set to return to action Saturday at the Kentucky Invitational Tournament.
