Coming off their first tournament victory of the season, the Madison Central golf team once again took the course with some of the top teams in the state on Saturday.
The Indians played well, again.
Central had four players shoot rounds in the 70s at the Kentucky Invitational Tournament in Louisville. The Indians shot a +13, 297, and tied for second place, just one shot behind Taylor County (+12, 296).
St. Xavier also shot a +13, 297, while Trinity took fourth with a +14, 298.
Central's Cooper Eberle fired an even-par, 71, and finished fifth. He had three birdies and three bogeys.
Clay Pendergrass shot a +1, 72, and tied for sixth. The sophomore had three birdies, but also had a triple bogey on No. 8.
Warren Thomas shot a +5, 76, and tied for 22nd.
Gavin McKune shot a +7, 78, and tied for 29, while Blake McGinn fired a +10, 81, and tied for 46th.
Central took first place on Monday the Battle of the Bridge in Danville.
Hayes Mason of Taylor County took the individual title with a -4, 67 on Saturday in Louisville, while Matthew Troutman of LCA was second with a -3, 68.
