The Model Laboratory baseball team snapped a two-game losing streak with an 11-8 win over Casey County on Friday in Liberty.
The Patriots pounded out 18 hits and scored in every inning, except the second and fifth.
Taylor Hill led the offensive attack. He was 4-for-4 with two RBI and scored three times.
John Frazier was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBI and scored once. Luke Keck had two doubles, four RBI and scored a run.
Zach Long was 2-for-3 and scored twice. Cruise Pingleton was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Andrew Sissons was 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI. Nate Davis was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Jakob Tharp was 1-for-2 and Braden Renfro was 1-for-4.
Keck started and four innings. He allowed seven hits, six runs (four earned), with four strikeouts and a walk. Pingleton pitched the final three innings, allowing four hits, two runs and one walk with eight strikeouts.
Model scored three times in the third and four times in the fourth.
The Patriots are set to return to action Monday at Western Hills.
Pirates fall at Paris
The Pirates (3-5) led twice early, but couldn't hold on for a win on the road.
Paris used two big innings to pick up an 8-4 five-inning win over Berea Community on Friday.
The Pirates scored once in each of the first four innings and finished with seven hits.
Ben West went the distance on the mound for Berea. He allowed nine hits, eight runs and five walks with three strikeouts.
The Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the first before the Greyhounds tied the game in the bottom of the inning. Berea scored once more in the second and third to take a 3-1 lead.
Paris answered with three runs in the third and four runs in the fourth.
Eric Luppens was 2-for-2 and scored a run. Triston Duckworth was 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and scored a run.
Ty Thompson was 1-for-2 with a double, walk and scored a run. Dylan Hanney was 1-for-2 with an RBI and scored a run. Tanner Hayden was 1-for-3 and West had an RBI.
Berea is set to return to action April 8 at Rockcastle County.
