The Madison County wrestling team opened the season Saturday by competing in the Wayne County Duals.

The Indians won four of their five matches, losing only to Wayne County.

Central defeated Whitley County, 66-6, beat Scott County, 42-36, defeated McCreary Central, 60-18, and also beat Anderson County, 42-33.

The Indians lost to Wayne County, 54-21.

Gentry Deck, William Keeney, Jonathon Gadd (captain), Christopher Morrow (captain) and Gavin Williams were 4-1 in the event. Ryan McMannus and Aaron Flenner had 3-2 records, while Jack Lindsey and Corban Couch won two of their five matches.

Jim Morrison won his first three matches before getting injured.

Gadd and Morrow had four wins by pins and both their losses were by decisions.

Central is set to return to action Wednesday at Madison Southern.
