Josh Curtis has been named the new girls basketball coach at Madison Southern High School.

The school announced the hire last week in a press release.

"Over the past few months, a committee of administrators teachers, players and parents of Madison Southern High School has spent countless hours interviewing, checking references and gathering input from those invested in our girls basketball program," the release stated. "After interviewing several applicants, one person stood out just a little more than the rest, ultimately make the decision a little easier."

Curtis certainly brings an impressive resume to Southern.

He has spent the past seven seasons as an assistant girls basketball coach at Montgomery County High School.

In addition, for the past four years, he has been the head coach of the girls basketball team at McNabb Middle School.

During that time, McNabb had a total record of 93-7, including two Bluegrass Conference Tournament championships and three Bluegrass Conference Tournament regular-season titles.

Curtis will be the third head coach for the Lady Eagles in the past three seasons.
