I am back in town after a short stint in Florida and I am raring to report golf at EKU and on the local courses -- just as soon as the old mother nature warms us up.
Just received an email from Kevin Britton, who is Assistant Athletics Director for communications and Branding at EKU.
The EKU woman's golf team was in Boca Raton, Fla., earlier this week teed it up in the Florida Atlantic University Winter Warm-Up at the Osprey Point Golf Course.
Here are the results.

Solid start to the season, ladies!

On a sad note
I lost a good World War II pal while I was in Florida.
My friend Jimmy Chenault left us in January for that great mansion in the sky.
Back in the mid 30s Jimmy played on the Oak Street Raiders and I played on the Broadway Cut Throats football teams. We both were on convoy duty during the war.
He was in the Pacific and I was in the Atlantic.
Our ships protected the convoys. He was an officer and I was a deck hand.
Jimmy was one month older than myself.
You are gone my friend but never to be forgotten. I will miss you Jimmy.
Aloha and Mahalo!

EKU men's golf team will return to action at the Presidents Day match play in Florida on Monday and Tueday. The event is being hosted by George Washington University at Weston Hills Golf Club in Weston, Fa.
