Madison County teams are set for challenging first-round match-ups when the 11th Region volleyball tournament gets under way on Monday after various locations.
Madison Southern (15-2) will take on Paul Laurence Dunbar (12-7) at home (6 p.m.), while Madison Central (7-13) is scheduled to travel to Georgetown to face Great Crossing (12-6) at 7 p.m.
The winners advance to the semifinals on Wednesday at Berea Community School. The title game is set for 7 p.m.
The Lady Eagles claimed back-to-back district titles for the first time in program history with a 3-1 win (25-16, 23-25, 26-24, 25-11) over Central last Tuesday at home.
Kyla Atkins had 12 kills, 31 assists, 25 digs and four aces. Avery St. John and Julia Bingham had 13 kills each.
Southern has won seventh-straight matches since a 3-0 loss to Trinity Christian on Sept. 24.

Central and Great Crossing met just 13 days ago in Georgetown. The Lady Warhawks rolled to a 3-0 win, 25-11, 25-13, 25-16. Addison Martin and Ananiah Hugely each had four kills for the Lady Indians and Sicilia Friend had 11 digs.
Central topped Berea, 3-0, in the opening round of the 44th District Tournament before falling to Southern in the title game for the second-straight season.
The Lady Indians have won just one match since Oct. 6.
Great Crossing had a six-match losing streak in the middle of the season, but has won nine-straight matches since.
The Lady Warhawks beat Frankfort, 3-0, in the semifinals of the 41th District Tournament, then swept Western Hills in the title game.
