BEREA — The Lady Pirates are headed back to the championship game of the 11th Region All “A” Classic for the fifth-straight season.
Berea Community (3-2) jumped out to a huge early lead and rolled to a 74-36 win over Trinity Christian on Wednesday at home. Alexis Newman and Madison Howell each had 17 points and Mati Stepp added 14 points and six assists.
The Lady Pirates will take on Frankfort in the title game on Saturday.

Frankfort moved into the championship with a 55-47 win over Model on Wednesday in Berea.
“In both games, we really shot the ball well coming out of the gate,” Berea coach Dammian Stepp said of his team’s two wins this week. “That’s helped us get a little bit of a cushion and get more bodies on the floor.”
The Lady Pirates have won two-straight 11th Region All “A” Classic titles.
And they are in position to claim another championship after a pair of lopsided wins.
Berea rolled past Sayre, 64-36, on Monday night in the opening round. On Wednesday, the Lady Pirates had a 32-10 lead after the first quarter of the semifinal match-up with Trinity Christian.
At halftime, Berea led 54-14.
Newman had another big shooting performance. The junior tied a school record with eight three-pointers against Sayre, then went 5-of-5 from long range in the semifinal.
“That’s what shooters do,” Stepp said. “She is on a pretty good run where she shot the ball pretty well.”
Abigail Beard had 10 points against Trinity Christian, while Emily Maynard had five points, Chesney Lovins had four points and Maddy King had three points. Lauren Stepp and Mackenzie Howell had two points each.
