Whether it is a community event or a club meeting, The Richmond Register wants to help spread the word.

In each edition, The Register publishes its community calendar featuring local events. Also, a week-long calendar is posted online every Sunday night at richmondregister.com. In addition to the calendar, The Madison County Advertiser prints a community bulletin board each week.

For all entries, email news@richmondregister.com with necessary information (who, what, when, where, etc.). The Register does not guarantee how often an announcement will run in the calendar. The calendar's date range depends on space available and amount of events.

The Register also welcomes clubs, groups and local residents to submit news photos and short articles for publication in the paper. Stories/photos will run as space is available.

The Register reminds all organizations that have previously been listed in the calendar to resubmit their meeting notices.

The community calendar and community bulletin board notices are free.

It's simple and easy. Let The Register spread the word about your event.

Candidates welcome to submit announcements

While one election season just recently ended, we're turning our attention to the 2020 season. And with a full slate of races, The Register welcomes candidate announcements.

For local races, each candidate can submit a 300-word announcement and head shot. The announcements will run in the weekend edition of The Register on A2 as space allows.

Email the announcements to editor@richmondregister.com. The deadline to submit announcements is Sunday, Feb. 23, at 11:59 p.m.

The only races that candidates will receive a story for announcing their candidacy are Congressional and U.S. Senate races.
