Keeping the lights on
I would like to say Madison County's utility companies always do a fantastic job during winter and any emergencies.
Also, the cable company crews did a great job repairing their downed lines.
Our road crews have always been the best around. Power outages come with bad weather, but Blue Grass Energy and Kentucky Utilities keep at it until they get us all restored.
Thank you, Madison County and all the employees who worked hard and risked a lot to keep us safe, year round.

Letters to the Editor are submissions from community members to our editor. We run as many as possible under Our Readers Speak, per space and time restrictions, as long as they meet some basic criteria. They can't be libelous or incite violence. Letters can be 300 words long, and can be emailed to email@example.com or mailed to 380 Big Hill Ave., Richmond, KY 40475. Please submit your name, address and a phone number. Only your name and hometown will be printed.
Guest Op-Eds are submissions from community members that exceed 300 words, but are allowed to run because of the perspective they provide, the expertise of the author or the complexity of the subject. This involves a communication between the author and the editor. It's more difficult to run many op-eds because of space constraints.
Editorials are voted on by members of The Register editorial board and are most often written by the editor. They reflect the views of the editorial board, not every Register employee.
