Hanging is not the answer
This letter is pertaining to the article in the Richmond Register on Thursday, July 29 about increasing overdose numbers, which is a problem not just here, but just about every city.
As a pastor I'm very saddened and concerned over this issue.
Everything the coroner, magistrates and Judge Executive Reagan Taylor said was very informative.
I take issue with what one magistrate, Tom Botkins, said about hanging drug dealers on the courthouse steps.
This statement is very offensive and degrading for someone in public office to use that kind of language.
I don't disagree that it's a big problem in our community and communities all over our country, but to say to hang someone is very disrespectful and shouldn't be allowed in government forms of any kind.

Thank you, Governor Beshaer
Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, "The right to swing my fist begins where the other man's nose begins."
So too the freedom to spray one's particles.
Many thanks to Andy Beshear for mandating masks to protect our children in schools.
