Whether you're at the coffee shop, barber shop or just with family and friends, there are always questions surrounding what's going on in Madison County.

Sometimes, the answer is known, but not always. And that's where The Register wants to help out.

Is there something you're curious about in the news? A subject you'd like to know more about? We want to hear from you. Our editorial staff last year launched a new project -- Ask It Madison County -- to find the answers to your most burning questions. So far, it has produced numerous stories on questions you, the reader, have had.

Every day, Richmond Register journalists report on the people, politics, economy, sports and institutions that make our region and state great. You read those stories at richmondregister.com, in this very newspaper and see them on our social media (Facebook and Twitter).

But we often wonder what questions you would ask, if you were assigning our stories.

With that in mind, Ask It Madison County invites you to join in the reporting process.

The idea is simple: You have questions, and our journalists are trained to track down answers.

What's special about this project is that you, the community, are involved in the reporting process. You ask the questions. You decide what we investigate.

What do you wonder about the culture, people and institutions of Madison County -- and the rest of our great state? Help us investigate stories that matter to you.

There's three ways to submit a question.

Online: Visit richmondregister.com and click on the Ask It Madison County logo and fill out the form.

Mail: Send your question with your name, city, zip, email and phone number to Richmond Register c/o Ask It Madison County, PO Box 99, Richmond, KY, 40475

Email: Send your question with your name, city, zip, email and phone number to editor@richmondregister.com.

The Register will make attempts to answer or find answers to all questions. If similar questions are asked, readers may be asked to vote on which topic they want investigated.

So go ahead and Ask It Madison County.
