UPDATE 8:07 p.m.: RPD confirms the identity of the two victims in today's shooting are Christopher Hager and Gracie Hager. The suspect in the shooting is Thomas Birl.
UPDATE 7:44 p.m.: The Richmond Register is awaiting word from law enforcement who have scheduled a press conference to begin at 8 p.m.
UPDATE 6:45 p.m.: Early reports at the scene indicate police may have the alleged shooter in custody.
UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: Fire has broken out in the apartment complex where an alleged shooter is in a standoff with police. Area residents are being asked by law enforcement to vacate their homes as fire crews try to get the fire under control.
UPDATE 6:11 p.m.: They are reports of shots being fired at the scene of a standoff between an alleged shooter and police on Keystone Drive.
UPDATE 4:45 p.m.: According to the Richmond Police Department, law enforcement are in active negotiations with an alleged shooter who has barricaded themselves in an apartment on Keystone Drive.
One body has been removed from the scene by the coroner.
Police say they are in negotiations with the suspect to allow law enforcement to retrieve another body that is allegedly inside the residence.
ORIGINAL STORY: Two people are dead after a shooting on Keystone Drive Tuesday afternoon.
Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison is at the scene of the incident.
Law enforcement have closed the the area at Keystone and Keeneland Drive beginning at ServePro just before Keystone Drive.
Residents are advised to stay indoors.
Police have located the alleged shooter who has barricaded themselves in a nearby apartment.
Law enforcement have surrounded the apartment and are demanding the subject come outside.
