In a short eight-minute meeting with the Richmond Planning and Zoning Commission Thursday night, Monty Brock, owner of an existing car storage property, requested the commission for a recommendation for annexation.

An application was sent to the planning commission for 1.77 acres at 156 Skyline Drive behind Monty’s Liquor to be annexed to the city of Richmond.

Currently, it is zoned UC-4, general commercial, in Madison County.

The property owner went to the board for a recommendation from planning zoning asking that if annexed to the city, what the land would be zoned.

Brock requested a B3 zone, highway business or industrial, which was unanimously approved by the planning commission to be recommended to the city commission.

The annexation request will now go to the Richmond City Commission for a vote.
