UPDATE 08/18/19 6:06PM: The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was notified at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday after a possible body was located off of KY HWY 2328 (Old Lexington Road) in northern Madison County.
The initial investigation indicates that the body of an unidentified female has been recovered after being found near the side of the road. Her remains have been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy and identification, according to a KSP release.
Anyone with information about the deceased female’s identity or with information that would be pertinent to the investigation is asked to contact the KSP Richmond Post at 859.623.2404.
The ongoing death investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Adam Hall. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and the Madison County Coroner.

According to our news partner WKYT, law enforcement is investigating after a body was found near the Kentucky River Saturday night.
Police blocked off the area near the Old Clays Ferry Bridge on Old Richmond Road on the Fayette and Madison County lines on Interstate 75.
The body has been sent to Frankfort for an autopsy.
The Madison County coroner has not released information on the state of the body but says foul play is expected, according to WKYT. KSP is investigating.
