The Madison County HIDTA Drug Task Force arrested a man and a woman Tuesday evening for first-degree controlled substance trafficking (methamphetamine) after responding to a drug complaint.
When police arrived, they spoke with Melissa Lear, 34, South Keeneland Drive, Richmond, at her home, according to a citation. She allowed police inside.
Lear, along with Joseph Estep, 38, of the same address, told police there was a bag of "cut" inside the residence that Estep had found in his vehicle.
Lear then led police to their bedroom, where police found suspected methamphetamine and a set of digital scales, the citation states.
Both Estep and Lear were taken to the Madison County Detention Center, according to online jail records. Lear was released later on Tuesday, and Estep was released Wednesday.
