Berea police arrested a man for attempted second-degree robbery Saturday after officers were notified of the attempted robbery at McDonald's on Glades Road.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, who said two males — one who was later identified as Aaron Couch, 19, Opossum Kingdom Road, Berea — walked up to them on Glades Road. One of them pretended to have a gun under their shirt and pointed it at the victim, according to Couch's arrest citation.
Couch told the victim to give him everything they had, and the victim retrieved their handgun they were carrying concealed. The two males fled and were later found by police on Rash Road.
The victim identified Couch as the one who tried to rob them, the citation states.
The second male said Couch had their phone, which was the object under Couch's shirt when he tried to rob the victim, but that they didn't know what was going on.
Couch told police that nothing happened and he had never seen the victim before.
Couch was taken to the Madison County Detention Center, and was released later on Saturday, according to online jail records.
