Richmond police arrested a man Saturday on a Madison County warrant charging him with second-degree assault.
According to the warrant, on June 15, Michael Evans, 34, Bellevue Drive, Richmond, was seen stabbing another person with a knife.
The victim had three stab wounds, one to the upper middle back, one to the upper right back and one to the elbow.
When Evans was arrested, he was also charged with first-degree controlled substance possession (heroin) and first-degree controlled substance possession (methamphetamine).
He was taken to the Madison County Detention Center, where he remained Wednesday afternoon, according to online jail records.
