Richmond police arrested a man Monday on a Madison County warrant that charges him with first-degree assault, menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct.

According to the warrant, on May 29, Christopher Mullins, 36, North Keeneland Drive, Richmond, jumped out of a vehicle and began cursing and yelling at another person who was inside their home.

The victim exited their home to confront Mullins, who then pulled out a knife and tried to stab the victim, the warrant continues. The victim jumped back, evading the knife, and struck Mullins in the head with the metal handle of a squidgy.

By the time Richmond police arrived, Mullins had fled.

He was arrested at his home and was taken to the Madison County Detention Center, where he remained Wednesday afternoon, according to online jail records.
