Kentucky State Police are asking for people's help in a death investigation after a man was found inside the cab of a tractor-trailer at the Shell station off exit 95 Tuesday afternoon.
"We were contacted at 5:22 p.m. by the Madison County Sheriff's Office after they responded to a welfare check," Trooper Robert Purdy, public information officer, said.
The tractor-trailer had been at the station with the ignition on all of Monday night and all of Tuesday.
"It does not appear to be any kind of natural cause or suicide, so there's definitely a lot of suspicion around what happened," Purdy said. He also confirmed the man didn't die of a drug overdose.
The man, whose identity is not being released, was taken to the state medical examiner's office Wednesday morning for an autopsy, according to Purdy.
"If anybody knows anything, we're asking them to contact the Richmond post at 859-623-3404, and we'll get them in contact with somebody," Purdy said.
