Richmond police arrested a man for sexual misconduct and prohibited use of electronic communication systems to procure minor for sexual offenses on Thursday.
According to a citation, it was determined that Richard Lira, 19, Hager Drive, Richmond, made contact with the victim, a minor, through communication devices and had sex with the minor.
Lira was taken to the Madison County Detention Center, where he remained Thursday afternoon, according to online jail records.

The following were also arrested recently:
• Joshua Benge, 38, Brodhead, theft by unlawful taking (less than $500), first-degree controlled substance possession (methamphetamine), buying/possessing drug paraphernalia and two charges of failure to appear.
• Ricky Mayes, 60, Dreyfus Road, Waco, no tail lamps, marijuana possession, first-degree controlled substance possession (drug unspecified) and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc.
• Thomas Crowe, 28, Mount Vernon, first-degree controlled substance possession, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia and public intoxication by a controlled substance.
• Aaron Gould, 36, Pilot Knob Cemetery Road, Berea, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia and first-degree controlled substance possession.
•Christopher Shepherd, 48, Valley Street, Richmond, fraudulent use of a credit card (more than $500, but less than $10,000).
