The Madison County Coroner identified a man killed in a hit and run accident Friday as 58-year-old Robert Hepler of Johnson City, Tennessee.
The incident occurred on Interstate 75 northbound near the 86 mile marker.
At around 3 a.m. Friday morning, a vehicle traveling northbound lost control and ended up on the right shoulder, according to Kentucky State Trooper Adam Hall.
Hepler exited his vehicle after losing control ending up on the right shoulder and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound. Trooper Hall said the driver that struck the deceased did not stop, and they have no leads on the driver.
Another vehicle had lost control at the same time of the incident and ended up on the left shoulder, but was not involved in the fatal collision, Hall told The Register.
Hall stated there were no other injuries and it was raining at the time of the collision.
