Madison Southern high school cheerleading squad turned in a remarkable performance recently at the Universal Cheerleaders Association’s annual National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) in Orlando, Fla. Southern took second place at the Large Varsity Division II level.

The competition will air on ESPN2 on March 26 at 10 a.m. and April 9 at noon.

The Madison Southern team members for the 2015-2016 season include: Amber Abney, Taylor Bunch, Cheyenne Caudill, Kirsten Cottrell, Ashley Deaton, Katie Evans, Emma Heckman, Hayleigh Howard, Taelor Howie, Emily Hurt, Hayleigh Hurt, Ijahnai Johnson, Shelbie Kinder, Krysten Kundrat, Poem Lee, Cami McCreath, Ciara Mills, Ashtyn Morton, Kara Ramsey, Caitlyn Russell, Mikaela Sadler, Miranda Seals, Brooklyn Smyth and Courtney Spangler.

The Madison Southern coaching staff includes head coach Teresa Jefferson, assistants Andrea Cochran, Beth Wilson and Amanda Childers, choreography and tumbling coach Bryce Seals.
